AllSpice

No, I don't eat twigs and leaves, sawdust and cardboard tasteless air, paper sandwiches drowned in dull, easy water. My breakfast does not compose of lumpy oatmeal, or bird seeds. Yes, I'm Latina but that doesn't mean my culture defines me... or my food. How should I explain this? I don't think my diet should consist of protein 24/7 or of food bought from the 7/11. I'd rather have a piece of Heaven, because my body is a temple I want to fill it with goods from Mount Olympus I want my tongue to know every sugar, spice and everything nice so maybe I can wake up to feel like a PowerPuff Girl. I'd call myself "Allspice". I may not be able to fly, but I can run half a marathon without stopping, walk flights of stairs without trying to catch the air as if it's scarce. I can be at the brink of death and still feel immortal. It's not just salad leaves and lentil seeds but rosemary, thyme, sage, garam masala Have you ever tried samosa's with peach chutney? I don't like to drive through any restaurant to save time Don't you know that time is the most valuable ingredient in food? I'd rather dance with the African Goddesses in the kitchen, sing the water to a boil, laugh the pasta until it's soft, talk some sense into the veggies and then enjoy food as God intended. I might stay away from eggs, meat and fish, but that doesn't mean my plate is flavorless when I lick it clean. Don't you know that meat doesn't even taste great without seasoning And spices? Sometimes you just have to get a little more creative and open your mind to a world of food. That's when you'd find out about cinnamon, and nutmeg, anise and coriander, cloves and chives and even allspice.
