Alma Risa

Truly I am a social being by nature

My body keeps a certain temperature

I hold this this fact very dear

And I need to live with a mirror

I have a friend who understands me like no other

She holds the same amount of heart as my mother

When alone I wish she was near

She lightens my sadness like a cure

We create ideas and worlds together

We dream and laugh no matter the weather

We have designed businesses and homes

We explore and dress up like gnomes

To live out the rest of my days with nothing

To all my memories of the past I would cling

My thoughts and wishes would never stop coming

I would have to share them with the world and sing

At the top of my lungs I would profess

My love for company and confess

I am human and I need another body to warm me

To live alone would truly surround me by a sea

Yet I have someone who can contact me without spoken word

We are different enough to not be challenged and feel secure

To be ourselves and allow the similarities to grow

If everything else I hold dear had to go

My best friend is the one I want to keep forever.
