Almighty Thespian
I vanquish the monstrous pre-show butterflies.
Don’t be deceived
For these rabid beasts are mighty.
One would relate the strength of these fiend creatures
To the tenacious Turkish Angora
Slowly tearing its subject apart.
But I am the almighty conquerer
I slay these wicked monsters for breakfast
Thy needs no armor or weapons
For my notable tactics come from the mere presence of cast mates
And my internal knowledge of the all-knowing script.
I fight these inner demons with ease
Pounding them to a pulp with thoughts of optimism
But the butterflies grow stronger as the Curtain of Delirium opens
And the Lights of Flourish consume the stage
The butterflies devour the attention from a hundred unfamiliar eyes
Expanding their harrowing venom throughout you
You might loose your meal, right there, on stage
But not I, for I am an invincible thespian
I am a warrior of the stage
And one day, this will be my life
