Alone

I am a stranger,

I know not who I am,

No one knows,

I am alone.

I am like a tree in an open field that goes on for an eternity,

Nothing around me but the wind whipping my face,

I begin to wonder,

Who am I? Why am I here?

I am alone.

I wake up to nothing,

I have not anything to look forward to.

The aching pain of stillness is around me,

And I find myself still alone.

But being alone,

It strengthens me,

It makes me step back and look at myself, my life.

And then I realize,

 I am not alone.

For You, O God, are with me.

And You comfort me.

How great is Your name, Abba, Father,

For You are with me,

Now and for all of eternity,

Alone, but yet not alone am I!
