Alone

A

Tree

Alone

In its own

Little forest.

Many pass it by.

No one pays attention.

Because it

Refuses to make

Itself noticeable for any sake.

Never has a bird sat on its branches.

It was strong

Strong enough to survive

When all those around it had died

While it kept growing, disappointed but alive.

So much sacrificed

And yet, it is always ignored.

All it has ever dreamed of is to be known.

Maybe, just this once, the tree wouldn’t again be sad or bored.

Not loved

By any…

For it has

Too many

Needles.
