Alone

I really feel guilty admitting this bitter truth,

But I'm honestly at a disadvantage in my youth.

I may fair better and can last longer,

But living more has caused me more ponder.

Don't you see the destained languish and pain?

The continual change, tears, and strain?

I'm the youngest of family and friends,

Leaving me alone, alone to their ends.

I am only one. One left to fight,

While you become the whispers of the night.

I'm possessed to scrounge and remind,

That I live the worst fear of being left behind.

I can see the bleek and blackness ahead,

Wishing and longing to be released my stead.

Trying hard to always remember

Fleeting memories of younder.

Racing and laughing like we once did,

Before such thoughts-O Heaven forbid.

This Time and Pain are certain,

Before life's final act and curtain.

I part you all and say;

"I hope to see you again one day."

Yet now, alone I stand at your grave side.

Waiting for dawn's new and ending tide.
