Alone

People do not seem to understand

That there is a difference between Lonely and Alone

Lonely is striving for people,

To fill this empty void

An empty chasm that can only be filled with the tones of another's voice.

An empty feeling in the very pit of your being,

A feeling that seeps through the skin

And chills you, creating a sort of

Frostbite.

You can feel the layers of your soul Blackening and Falling away.

Alone is not like that.

Alone is a moment with your thoughts

A second to appreciate a dimming sun

Or a rising moon.

Alone is a smile, spreading accross

Your face and giving you time

To Breathe

To soak in the dulcet sound of

Silence.

Lonely is nothing like Alone.
