Alone

She said

How did the night

Turn out like this

Standing at a bus stop

Dead of winter

Mascara stained cheeks

She looked at me

With frosted eyelashes

Haunted blue eyes

She asked me

How her life

Got this bad

So fast

Why does the good

Never last

But the pain

Stays like a stain

On the skin

She asked me

If it gets better

If the rain stops

If sinners

Get a second chance

At a new life

She asked me

Why it's always harder

Being good

To the ones who love you

Good

Like they should

She said

I hurt

I hurt every damn night

I haven't ever felt right

Why does it have to be this way

When does the day

Ease into the night

Like it used to

As a child

She asked me why

And cried

Swore she tried

She said

I don't want to wait

Anymore

I don't want to be late

For my life

She asked me

To take her hand

Take her home

Anywhere

Is better then here

She said

Just please take me home

Because

I don't want to be alone
