Alone
Softly
I weep
for the death of my consciousness,
my one and only being
of sanity.
I now stand in this wind,
and let myself sway
in this cradling breeze.
It lets me sleep,
and dream
of those days when
I once was surrounded by people.
Always occupied.
Now I wake in this place,
surrounded again by friends.
I am occupied again,
yet
so
alone.
I do laugh,
I do smile,
I do nod and shake my head.
I do feel happy and upset.
But I do not feel the air
under my wings
to take me high into the sky.
I am all alone, despite
my company...
Like a single petal
floating on a breeze,
I
am
alone.
