Alone
Can I decide
if I were to be all alone
on that desert island ...
we are all asked
at one time or another
what would you bring? who would you bring?
I'd bring my heart
I'd bring my soul
I'd bring my memories, of dear ones I couldn't have along
I'd bring music, to beats in my head, to tunes from long ago and from just a year gone by
I'd bring fragmented verses and favorite hymns of worship ,
I'd bring my love of nature and remember who to praise
In all creation, I still live
My surroundings may be different
but my soul still remains
