Alone
Alone isn't all to fun
It’s that scary roller coaster you are forced to ride
Or that family reunion
Alone isn’t that scary
It’s like the jump scare you always expect
Or Spider that creeps around your house
Alone isn’t what others think
It’s like a book you immerse into
Or the constant white noise in every school
Alone isn’t loneliness
It’s like quarantine and scientists
Or a night with your dog
Alone isn’t difficult
It’s like walking across the room
Or making a bowl of cereal
Alone isn’t inconvenient
It’s like the spoiled birthday surprise
Or a walk to the farmers market
Alone becomes less and less of a chore
You get used to it
At one point you forget what it's like to have another
Yet it's always easy to hide alone
And when you hide alone, you are always with yourself
Who better to be with?
Someone you can judge others with, tell stories to,
Or even be yourself with.
In the end alone is satisfaction
