Alone

Alone with my thoughts
Feeling lost and trapped, right here
I’m falling apart

My body betrays
In my small corner, I cry
Tears need to get out.

Let me stay in here
Please just let me self destruct
With anxiety

Don’t want any help
I just want to be alone
Don’t you pull me out!

Writing down my thoughts
I finally understand
Where my pain is now

Body betraying
And muscles do not pay mind
Mind is betraying

My mind is losing
The fight I never wanted
I’m losing the war.

Note: this poem is about my MS-like symptoms I’ve been having. It’s a tad negative because I feel very frustrated and scared right now. However, I am certain those feelings will pass with time.

I am the type of person who needs to vent the negative feelings out into the world. Then I can smile with strength.

Onwards into the battle :)

AmaraTheWarrior

Hello, my name is Anne-Marie. Welcome to my profile. I like to think of myself as a writer and advocate for mental health and invisible illnesses. Part of me struggles with my faith on a daily basis because of my sexual orientation. So a lot of my poetry is about coping with that and my health on a day-to-day basis. I don't define myself with my sexual orientation or my health struggles but they are a part of me; there's no denying that. I love to write dark science fiction about dystopic futuristic landscapes. I like to write strong female leads with a lot of emotion and feeling to them. I truly live, breathe, and enjoy writing. Thank you for reading this
