Alone
Here I am alone again in this empty room.
He says he can do anything I want to do.
He says we can enjoy the view
Does he mean me or does he mean the scenery?
I don’t say a word, I pretend not to hear
He comes closer to me and says it again
I look at him and nod…he doesn’t understand
He asks why my face looks so contorted.
He asks if I’m deaf or have trouble hearing
Still I do not answer, I try not to be vulgar.
I just don’t know what to say….
He asks why I’m so silent, why I’m so ignorant
Here I am alone again in this empty place
He asks what I want but I have no response
Not once did he ever ask what is wrong
He says he enjoyed the time we had and we should do it again….
He never says what I’ve wanted him to say
He never says what I’ve craved for him to say
He never says “I would be anything for you.”
Here I am alone again in my own bed
He sighs and gets dressed
Mumbling under his breath
He opens the door, leaving me alone
Here I am alone again…lost in this world….
