Alone

I watch you slowly step with purpose

Watching your every move

I see you avoiding others

As if you had something to prove

You talk and laugh and converse with others

But you retract inside; as if to say you are not worthy

I watch you each and every day

And hope you will release your inner thought

You hold it so tight and show others what they want

But it is me you are hurting, it is me you have fought
