Alone and Lost

Alone and lost

the boy searched for April.

Finding nothing but silence

throughout his ribbed skeleton.

All his quest resolved was haunted memories,

abandoned long ago in hopes for Spring.

And to climb the basement stairs

was the unlost wish he sang for.
