Alone in Love
I am hungry for that which sustains me.
My breast pulses with humanity
I breathe benevolence, focused on goodwill.
I am kind.
My heart beats. It is a machine that is powered by cogs and passion.
I am pensive. My skin tingles. Ideas spark a flame in me.
I am on fire. My hands drip with blood.
I am so hungry; my fingers tear through my insides. There’s a pain inside me.
My tummy protests to me. But my hunger is incurable. It knows no bounds.
I am hungry for love, for the person who sustains me. I can see the way they laugh, throwing back their head in an effort to laugh wholeheartedly. I see the way they smile at me, knowing that a smile can make my beating heart shutter. I am in love. I am hungry for love, and it is only love that can sustain me. But there comes a time when we have to realize that we are alone.
