Alone In My Mind
Feeling alone is the scariest thing to feel
It's like ice flowing through my veins
It's breathing in icicles
And feeling like no one will ever be there for you
It's even when you are in a room surrounded by people
It's the like trying to claw out of a sinking ship
Knowing that it will consume you if you don't get to the surface
And then you know you aren't getting out
And you know there is no chance of hope
It is this all-consuming feeling of cold dread
It makes me just want to curl up and freeze
I know it will go away
But some days I worry it won't
Some days it's not even there
Other days its all I can feel
And all I want it to do is go away
But I know one day it will
All my friends think I'm normal
If only they knew
I would have died if it wasn't for them

Your Poem's Voice
Deeply personal, autobiographical exploration of loneliness and depression.
Multiple interconnected ideas: isolation, metaphorical drowning, emotional cyclicity, concealment.
Predominantly negative: fear, dread, despair, though ends with tentative hope.
Moderate intensity; visceral imagery and urgent emotional stakes, but meditative pacing.
Approximately 18 lines; falls within 16-30 range.
Rich similes and metaphors: ice, icicles, sinking ship, freezing; sustained figurative texture.
Pure lyric first-person introspection; internal emotional landscape throughout.
