Along The Seashore

As I walk along the beach,

I listen to the seagulls screech.

Above me they soar gleefully

And sit on the wavy sea.

Along the floor of the endless shore

Seashells are something that I adore.

Smooth and shiny on the wet sand,

Bleached by the sun, now in my hand.

When crashing waves thunder in my ears,

Every trouble disappears.

The salty smell fills my nose,

And the grains of sand smooth my toes.

I turn to face the bright sun's rays

Now I feel like I'm in a daze.

It's striking me with such might

I feel like a gleaming burst of light.

Before I jump in, I apply my lotion.

Then I walk down to the bellowing ocean.

I watch the waves steal the sand

Under the deep water, into another land.

The sparkling, salty, smashing sea

Swept me away so gracefully.

I flipped and flopped, tumbling around

Hoping my feet would find the ground.

The water is pure, natural, and free.

It is as beautiful as can be.

There surely is no better way

To spend a warm, sunny day.
