Alphabet Drummer
All I hear is music.
Beats playing continuously from song to song.
Crazy thing is the first song I loved was “who let the dogs out.”
Don’t laugh! I know it was a silly song, but it changed my life.
Every time I heard the beat of a song I had to tap my feet.
For my fifth Christmas I got the best drum set ever.
Getting this drum set was the start of a drummer’s life.
However, my parents went through listening to me beat down the house.
I played drums every day and on everything possible.
Jam sessions were the best part of my childhood.
Knowing how to keep a steady tempo was my downfall.
Lots of practice and lessons made my downfall, my strength.
Many of my fallen drumsticks lost their lives being knocked, bruised, and broken.
Nothing mattered more than playing the drums.
Obviously, getting older brought responsibilities.
Patiently the drummer inside me waited for the right time.
Quenching the thirst of my drumming heart was my greatest obstacle.
Right away I began practicing daily.
Suddenly with practice came perfection of my gift.
To my surprise my parents still weren’t used to hearings drums.
Usually I just closed my door, but with a bigger me came a bigger drum set.
Vast varieties of drum sets were upon my eyes.
With a decision on my hands the all black Tama Imperial Star caught my eyes.
Xmas brought the $800 set to my home.
You wouldn’t believe the excitement on my face.
Zesty drum betas from here on out!
