We laid all night under the dark, night sky.
“Together forever”, we used to say.
Held hands and counted the stars.
God is good, “Thank you”, I prayed.

Days flew by and they turned into years.
We were perfect, and so much in love.
The two of us were envied by most.
“You’re the girl I want to marry” he said.

The roses, the jewelry and clothes.
Always showered in gifts and kisses.
We looked past each others flaws.
We were inseparable...

The day came and we started arguing.
Emotions flew and words were said.
Anger got the best of us.
He slammed the door and stormed out.

I was a mess but i ran out after him.
It was too late..
I saw the other car drive through the stop sign.
The driver paid no attention.

I witnessed it.
Watched the car get crushed.
And my heart did the same.
It felt like slow motion.

Tears poured down my face.
I have never ran so fast before.
I couldn’t bear to look.
I heard the sirens getting closer.

In the hospital bed he laid.
So peaceful, unconscious and unmoving.
I held his hand for three days straight.
When he finally opened his eyes and looked at me.

“I will always love you” he said.
and the monitors went blank.....
