Always Afraid

How can we live in war
when are woman are beat behind closed doors
we worry bout oil and gold
but when it comes to friends and family we aren't so bold

walk the same dark halls
see the same white walls
walk these streets with a burden of proof
all we need to do is find the truth

Always afraid of being labeled a liar
Never back down face that fire
like an ice storm pelting the soul
that fear can become a frozen bowl

Stuck in our ways of the past
time to finish anywhere but last
for this there is one thing to learn
Love and trust are hard to earn

turn your head from the ground to the sky
allow your spirit to begin to fly
if all fails within your eyes
know your heart can always fly.
