Always and for never

I'm always just a little too slow. It's funny how I'm always just a little too slow. Too slow to see that you'd never be there for me. You couldn't do it even though it was your job. I'm always just a little too slow. Too slow to see that confidence is merely a statement away. That memories may run deep but that the future should run deeper. I'm always just a little too slow. Too slow to read between the lines like everybody else To trust like everybody else. But maybe always doesn't encompass as much as I once thought. I think that always can mean "for now". It has always been but it won't always be. Yes. That's my new definition of always. And even though you're not, I'm glad that somebody is proud of me.
