Always fighting myself
Always fighting in my mind
Always fighting alone
Struggling in silence
No understanding to be found
Always fighting in the mind

Society always ordering compliance
Oh, they don’t realize that my mind only knows defiance
But you learn how to hide the fight
You tell them you are alright
You keep the struggle out of sight
You have to pretend that everything is bright
Always fighting in the mind
Always fighting alone
Judgment to your right
Judgment to your left
Judgment right in front of you
They fear what they do not understand
They hide their ignorance with cruelty
Try to subdue and rule me
And claim it is because I am unruly
Always fighting for myself
Always fighting alone
This illness it’s mental
But it will not get in the way of my potential
When I achieve my goals it will not be coincidental
While this battle will never end
I can still find a way to win
Others fight a battle similar to mine
While I am the only one who can fight my battle
I am not the only one fighting
We can find allies
Always fighting in our minds
Not always fighting alone
Judgment to our right
Judgment to our left
Judgment right in front of us
They fear what they do not understand
So we will make them understand
We are different but we mean no harm
Somethings can be more difficult for us
Give us your understanding and patience
And you will see us thrive
Always fighting together
Fighting to not be looked down on
When will the day come that the fight is over?
Some days are harder than others
The fight is a part of who I am
The fight has given me strength
While I am always fighting
Fighting does not always have to be a bad thing
