Always Love

The fire within me has at last gone out

And the leftover timber has collapsed

My tears have soaked it to its core

And the rotting has begun

My soul devours itself in search of a warmth i can not give

The stench of decay wreaks havoc upon my senses

Nature takes her course and my soul slowly dissolves

My heart has long gone away

My mind gone with my will

Courage and strength are for the young

i have only appearance

The face a perfect mask

None question what they choose not to see

The pain inflicted by neglect
Harsher than that of its predeccessor

None can save you

None are there for you

You who stood so tall just for them

They leave you in a wasteland

Your only relief is what you can find

You wander through the gauntlet of hell

Your chest ripped open again and again

The hole displayed for the  world to see

Yet they still ignore

Still deny

As if they did not do it

As if they did not allow it

They know

But too often refuse

To reach into the grime

And wade their way back through

Through the mire

And the fire

Just to come find you

To grasp you and embrace you

And tell you you are home

That there is such a thing as love

True love

A love that never takes only gives

A love that guides you

A love that can only forgive you

A love that will never hurt you
        Never reject you
         Never deny you

A Love that will be patient with you

Only has compassion for you

A love that always has and always will be

A love that is yours even if you will not have it

A love that hurts when you hurt

That cries with you

Laughs with you

Dances with you

A love that can only bring joy

A love that is pure untainted devotion

He is what you've searched and longed for

What you've needed but never found

He is love

God is love
