Always Near

Time is ticking. . . . Catching my best friend’s eye, Laughing ‘til I cried, . . . becoming echoes in the past. Time is ticking. . . . Misty eyes, heart strings’ tug, One last brother hug, . . . still life keeps pace without him. Time is ticking. . . . Singing fills my ear, Beautiful to hear, . . . fading into phantom murmurs. Time is ticking. . . . Shame, embarrassment, Not saying what I meant. . . . sinking to dismal memories. Time is ticking. . . . Loving relations, Lively conversations . . . exhaling into silence. Time is ticking. . . . Sobs of pain and fear, When no one else seems near. . . . becoming haunts of misty dreams. Life is ticking. . . . Memories fade throughout the years, But God is there through laughs and tears. . . . He is always near.
