Always Trying

No matter what happens

We're always trying.

When I got picked on

You stopped the bullies

And made them flee.

When you were sick

I took care of you

As best I could.

We were always trying

When we disagreed

We found a soluion.

Even without a reason

We'd surpise eachother.

We always said how we felt

And told the other what we believed.

We were always trying

When I moved away

You stayed up late

Just to call me.

When you missed me

I always tried to make you smile

And forget the distance between us.

When summer came around

You tried to visit me.

We were always trying

Even still today,

After many years

You're still kind and loving

You still worry and care

You still say you love me

And that you'll always be there.

I want to do that for you too

So I am always trying
