Alzheimer's Patient
I am fading.
I am fading,
but I am still here.
I am losing.
I am losing my memory,
but I still love you.
I am breaking.
I am breaking,
but you can still help:
You can hold me.
You can treat me with value.
You can help me up.
You can make me dinner.
You can take me on a road trip.
You can listen to my old stories.
You can forgive my faults.
You can simply do whatever you are able to do,
but don't ignore me, please.
You can, by doing these things, love me.
I am sorry.
I am sincerely sorry
to put you through this.
It is difficult for me, too,
Because I can sense what is happening,
Yet have no control.
I am fading.
I am fading,
but I am still here.
