Am I?

(poems go here) Who am I? I am black, white, yellow, pink. I am the voice of a friend, And the roar of a crowd. I have been everywhere, I have tasted every food. I personify every culture, I appreciate every song. Who am I? I am outgoing and quiet Sometimes I am brave, Or timid like slowly passing clouds I am a gangster in the ghetto, And a poverty struck-whore. I am amicably aggressive, I am the son of a big-time executive. Who am I? I laugh, I cry, I choke on my own rage. My pride if loud, my humility has died. My conscience is weak, My body is strong. I lead, I follow. I run and walk. My mind has no foundation. My foundation has no mind. I am your identity. I identify nothing. I am your plan. I lead you nowhere. I am your peace. And inner turmoil. I am... Conformity. I am your life. You are going nowhere.

Davina Bruno

I am a 20 year old Junior at the University of Texas, Austin. I am pursuing a bachelor's degree in Public Relations and I plan to minor in Journalism. At the age of 15, I published my first short story and I plan to continue writing. Engaging my imagination and using it to give a blank page some character has always been my catharsis, and I hope that one day, my published stories will encourage and inspire others. As a transfer student from the Caribbean, I truly appreciate this opportunity to study in America and I hope that your scholarship committee favors my work so that I can continue pursuing my degree.
