Am I Not Loving You?
CC BY-NDHe stares at his shoes,
the ones with poetry written in red on the soles.
His knee bounces a heavy rhythm.
*Tap-Tap-Tap*
He watches her watch the space between them,
And thinks to himself,
"Can you not see?
I am loving you...
from a distance"
A quiet shoulder can't be enough
Let your voice fill the void, dear lover.
For he fears the quiet is where love goes to fade.
And he fears even more
the thought
of her fading
