Am I Ready?

“I don’t know if I should do this,

Or if I even can;

I’m not sure if I’m ready,

I could use a helping hand.”

I look into the mirror,

Silently conversing;

I’m so nervous for this moment,

That I’ve always been rehearsing.

It’s nearly time to go,

I’ll get to graduate;

“But what if I’m not ready?”

I soundlessly debate.

“I don’t think you’re ready.”

And with myself I agree to disagree,

I know what I’m prepared for,

And I’m prepared to be free.
