Am I worth your Grace?
I imagine your fingers on my face,
Nails running along the side of my head,
Your palm lifting my face
As you breathe me in.
You play with my scalp,
Nails moving in circles,
The follicles of my hair resisting your direction.
But I don’t.
Your fingers caress me again,
Palm covering my ear.
I hear sounds:
The knowing echo of your tenderness,
I only recognize when I am not fully aware.
I imagine,
I dream what we could be.
Will it happen?
I want to cradle you close to me.
I want you,
But I need myself.
Would you hold me while I grieve you?

Your Poem's Voice
Deeply personal romantic/intimate fantasy; minimal abstraction or philosophical distance
Moderate idea density; sensory exploration mixed with emotional questioning; thoughtful pacing
Tender desire balanced by longing, uncertainty, and self-protective grief; bittersweet overall
Soft, tactile language dominates; intimate whisper rather than explosive; introspective tone
Approximately 20-22 lines; falls in 16-30 range
Personification, sensory metaphors, selective ornament; some plain declaration mixed with imagery
Pure lyric; internal monologue of desire, imagination, and self-reflection; no narrative distance
