An Amazing Life

Tue, 08/04/2015 - 11:23 -- Amyfsn

Sitting on the cold tile of our high school floor

My Best friend said to me

For such a good person "Karma" sure doesn't like you

You see a series of things had seemed to go wrong

and since then there have been days that you might agree with my friend's statement

But that is just a small fraction of life

The other...

Is AWESOME

The roof over my head

The bed I lay on to rest

The couch I relax on

The clean chilled water that quenches my thirst

The fresh food that fills my fridge

The electricity and plumbing that makes things so simple

A car, bus, plan, or train enabling fast and easy travel

the clothes on my back...

I am beyond fortunate to have

My eyes meet a tired and sad looking elderly man's, I smile and he smiles back

...That connection

The ethnic food that delights my palate

The sound of another language all around me

...Thinking about how it was formed

The joyous laugh of child

The deep belly laugh of a grandpa

Telling someone they are loved

The first kiss of her safely returned soldier

The medicine that saves the life of loved one

The sacrifice of one's life for another...

You see, while there may be not so fun days

Most days I am in AWE.
