Amber

Tears of damnation
Exuded from the pores of ancient life
A window to the past
Of sins
Carried by daughters
Of the god of the sun
Compensating for the punishment of their brother’s
Dreadful mistake
They sit on the shore of streams
Day and night
Crying for their pitiful lives
Their hearts are now made of wood
And their tears are resin
Poured out
From the canals of their bodies
And carried into the shallow streams of water
Where they eventually fossilize
Into a translucent stone
Reminiscing healing and power
That will come to be called Amber
