Ambition

Ambition is a vital, mighty flame

whose smoldering blaze is within Us all,

kindling our dreams from inaction to vigor

whilst heating our innermost passions.

This fire, ever-burning, allows humanity to progress

though the Ambitious have the propensity,

to fuel such a frightening fire

with seemingly important commitments.

But, like fire chars mankind's sensitive skin

ambition too can sear and scorch us

with its tempting, warm, welcoming embrace

iinviting us to hypocrisy and fraud.

Thus, beware of the mesmerizing power

that an abundance of ambition forges
