Ambition
There was something
About her smile
About her laugh
About her eyes
That was empty.
There was something
About her past
About her dreams
About her future
That scared her.
But there was something
About her kindness
About her honesty
About her love
That was bright.
And that's when she knew
There was nothing
Wrong with her.
Because there was something
That kept her smiling
That kept her laughing
That kept her dreaming
That kept her giving
And it over powered all the pain.
That even though
She had every reason to stop
She had every reason to give up
She had every reason to leave it behind
She didn’t.
Because she had every reason
To move
To fight
And to take it with her.
