Ambition
Her ambition was to teach,
Children were her passion.
For so many years she couldn’t understand why she struggled to fit in with people her own age.
Adults were so much easier
But children were drawn to her and she was drawn to them.
For years she didn’t know
That it was children that she loved,
So, she tried many other things,
The ache and longing was still in her heart.
Finally one day,
Watching a pre-school teacher teach,
Everything fell into place.
This is where her heart wanted to be.
Her love for children will take her far
And lead her where she wants to be.
A teacher is her calling,
So, a teacher she shall be.
