Ambition & Mediocrity

As a child looks to see a train set running around like clockwork,

an expression sets in.

A young face glowing with infatuation at tiny wonders.

An older face forms a grin,

moving from ear to ear.

He has robbed himself of joy, taking apprehension to the things he thought he understood, the illusion of experience.

I have robbed myself of joy in the past year, being a critic, a false judge.

Now I strive to be like the child.

I want to glow, again.
