Ambitions

Dear ambitions,

You invigorate and terrify me at the same time

Making my feelings an elaborate tangle of thoughts,

But please don’t stop.

Continue to make my mind surge with endless possibilities

And the hope that I’ll be the one who makes it come true.

Help me make you.

I cannot deny how I am kept up all night

Weighing the possibility of failure versus

The potential for success or

Simply cannot keep my eyes shut for

My want to see what’ll you’ll bring is too much

And if I close my eyes it might disappear.

Push me off the cliff

Without ground beneath my feet nothing can hold me back

And I’ll let my fall guide me so I enjoy the ride

Even if I don’t enjoy what’s at the bottom.

My brains buzzing like bees

And I want more of that sensation

So please,

Never stop even once I’ve finished one

And give me a new objective.

The emotions and commotion you bring me

I’ve become addicted to. I’m addicted to you

And I’ll never stop striving for completion.

Invigorate me more

Terrify me more

Keep tangling my thoughts

And we’ll never stop.

Sincerely yours,

IZZY

I write poems and lyrics when my emotions grow too high for me to bottle up. As an introvert I struggle to share with people and find the page more useful. I'm a college student studying film. I love animals and playing rugby!
