America the Beautiful Lie
S/o to the red, white and blue. Founded on freedom taken from a peaceful people. Jump-started and run by the blood of those suffering to keep their prized possession safe. That wasn't enough for the bold, new country. Dragging half way across the world their new mules and muscles, they proudly proceeded to get to where they would have never gotten alone. Not only after claiming their superiority but also being rulers of the world, was there a struggle like no other for equality hidden behind an unmet justice. Moving forward wasn't going to be easy. Tension between races is present in any once of dirt in the land of taxted freedom. Millions hear of the wonders and opportunities of this land only to come here and be judged for wanting more. More than to just hear of "the American dream", but to experience it first-hand. The country cheered our first African American president into office only to criticize him for not correcting what a man, not too different than the ones "first" setting foot on American soil, destroyed in 8yrs in 2. Killing of all races by all races happen hourly, and the country doesn't blink. Now we are once again faced with a question: who are we? A people of talk but no walk? A people who only care sometimes?.... A people denying what is clearly in front of us? We are a people who have to deal with the demon seeds planted and get over ourselves. The world should know that we aren't all bad, arrogant, and stupid, but there are enough of us who are. Can't change overnight, but we at least have to get on one accord.. Like any other transition in history, it'll be rocky. I'm strapped in for the ride though.
