america: the land of immigrants

do you know who i am?

i am the immigrant who came to destroy the wall

i am the person who will wash the car

i am the person who will clean the house and pick up the dog shit

i am the person who will take care of the children and they will call me mami

i am the mexican the chinese the filipino and the nigerian neighbor living next door who is stealing your job

my children will plant seeds that will outgrow my status

you fear me hate me despise me because you know that without me

nothing you would be
