The American Dream
The American Dream, land of the free, yet people still rob & steal. America's most wanted five star rating, as if you were a star player on the American team. Crackheads ready for the transaction before the crack of dawn, yet still this is the land of opportunity. The leaves are green & some say we come from the same soil as the trees, so I think that's why we have to keep the green paper with the seal in our pockets. Unexpected misfortunes, so when you close the door to your beautiful home don't forget to lock it. The American Dream, home of the brave, but many live in fear, because with people doing ignorant shit you could die today. While some innocent bystanders just want to stay alive, so they have no words to say. Working! 4a.m. prayers at grandmother's house, because she doesn't want a family member mentioned in the next sermon. Burning!, are their eyes with envy, while their pockets are empty & their parents may have not done it, but somehow they obtained the characteristics of thieves. Sure some come for the "freedom", but many stay for the money. Open your mind to the bigger picture. It has been 10 years, since Sarah seen her little sister. One morning off to school, as she smiled & waved see you later. Unfortunately, the world played a cruel trick & didn't return the favor. Mother Nature made it, so there was no longer a sooner or a later. Little Emily was gone, without a single sight from any neighbors. I, have no idea of what is The American Dream. I was hoping that one of you with born American families could tell me.
