The American Greed
Coming to America for the American Dream
Coming and seeing
The American Greed
The green opportunity
The land of the fee
Where lives are not worth as much as
The value of being free
The value of publicity
The value of the screen
Where children’s bodies pay the price
And that is not enough
For the values to change
For the prices to drop
Where teens talking about a bullet
Or two or three
Sending shockwaves through their bodies
and communities
Is seen as controversial, scheming
Political, demeaning
But not a tragedy
The American Greed
Illegal rights, lives, and dreams
Legal guns and death machines
Pierce their lungs with your second amendment
Take away their rights to breath
Children laying on the cold cement
Their eyes no longer able to see
How their blood will buy them no justice
How the world will simply fortify their school cells
How they’d rather keep children locked up
Rather than locking up guns themselves
God bless America
and the American Greed
For life and liberty
*As long as you pay the fee
