The American Hustle

The American Hustle

Opportunity, Lust, Possibility.

A sharp sting of poison seeping through your veins,

Disguised as everything you’ve ever wanted.

Pushing, Striving, Risking.

Not an appetite for more, but a hunger.

An overwhelming inclination for further shores,

Overriding your senses for just a taste,

Subconsciously morphing into a brutal addiction.

One so strong that no one could ever imagine being stolen from them,

Let alone allow.

A struggle, a fear, an impulse.

Aspiring to be something, to be someone,

Tearing apart anyone and anything in your path.

A desire for the American dream,

A prison almost impossible to escape,

The American Hustle.
