This right here, is America
A land carefully constructed atop an intricate foundation of lies
With a Society that'll quietly step over bodies of those who were victims of pardoned crimes
Because they were already found by maggots and flies
Land, that blood was shed over
In order to call our own.
Because we had to conquer more that what was loaned.
And more was never, and will never, be enough.
We chewed through the flesh of our own kind like the meat wasn't even tough.
Yes, our greed is comparable to cannibalism.
Label creativity done on the side of dilapidated buildings as vandalism.
And we are soon to become known as the land of over capacity prisons.
One of the few places the minorities are seen as the majority.
And the higher authorities carry guns, then preach against it,
were full of it.
And I'm not speaking of Malcolm X's speech when I say we teach 'Ballet or the Bullet"
Fingers inching toward the trigger threatening to pull it.
And if we killed our own people, for the other countries, will be a massacre.
We laugh as we make your eyes well up and your thoughts blur, unclear vision.
And we never fail to strike up a new mission before accomplishing the one previously set
How partial can you get but, oh,
Please stay tuned for your morning daily announcements.
I pledge allegiance to the flag
And to the poorly funded public school to which my feet drag.
One nation, indivisible?
With a crooked justice system for all, especially those with some extra melanin in your skin.
It's an ongoing battle in which no one wins.
But oh, red, blue, and white.
With you're beautiful stars and stripes.
Some of the innocent behind man-made bars.
And some of your youth playing in the impoverished neighborhoods
finding broken glass and crack pipes.
But alas, amongst your flaws you do resume to hold the reputation of the ideal country
And you usually answer when called to duty.
So America, I salute
Your money hungry, vanity obsessed
sometimes over processed beauty.

America can be seen in multiple perspectives. This is just one.
