The American Soldier
Like a skyscraper
In New York City
Like an oak tree
In the neighborhood park
The American soldier
Stands tall
Like a graduate
With a college diploma
Like a battle-scarred Marine
At the Veteran's Day ceremonies
The American soldier
Stands proud
Like the lone wolf
On a moon lit summer night
Like the Star Spangled banner
Over the U.S. of A.
The American soldier
Stands alone
Standing tall, proud, alone
The American soldier will always be there
Defending our freedom and our rights
Without thinking twice
The American soldier lives for you
And dies for you
