American Soldier

To the days that go

Before our eyes

To the years that stretch

For way to long

For the soldiers in Iraq

Building onto their courage

for us to sit back and relax

I stand proud to be where I am

The American bows on his knees

With Pride and Dignity

To the families who live rough lives

To the soldiers who scarifice

To the Red, White, and Blue

To the flag that must not touch

To the prayers that keep faith built it in

To the tears that come from an

American Heart to believe in

A New Soldiers Start

Amen

My brother is serving in The US Air Force so this one touches home for me. I actually wrote this in high school though for a soldier whom I have never meant but was serving somewhere in the US in need of moral support. Whereever you are I hope to meet you someday. Whether it be now or in the next life.
