American Soldier Poem
Thank you is not enough to say
For the price of freedom you pay.
You sacrifice your time, and possibly your life
In order to allow freedom in this country to survive.
Without you, this country would be nothing,
But with you, freedom rings.
Toughest of the tough, best of the best,
You, American soldier, are the one who protects our "nest."
Exactly how much you sacrifice is unfathomable to me,
Especially when you're away from family overseas.
My appreciation for what you do is more than you'll ever know.
Through this poem, this is what I hope to show.
And still, at the end of the day,
Thank you is not enough to say
For the price of freedom you pay.
