An ode for Apathy
CC BY-SAOh, an ode for apathy,
We celebrate your absence.
Oh, we see the irony
In this so-called tragedy.
Oh, an ode to apathy,
You rotting snake;
So still and unmoving,
I try to shake
You from my mind.
Try to break the cycle,
But you are like lead,
Pinning me to my bed.
I see your coil,
I hear your hiss.
I tell myself to run,
But your death is such a sweet kiss.
So here's your ode—
Do you hear my lies?
Feel the flow;
My words are my disguise.
Oh, your scales,
So soft and smooth,
Suffocate my cares—
Impossible to move,
Impossible to refuse.
