an old dog named misery

misery loves company, but I don't allow misery any she begs and cries to be let in like a hungry dog left in the cold, but she doesn't deserve any food she is like that of an abused animal, one of a dependent, fruitless nature, especially when left unchecked people reach out their hands to her, to give a loving stroke or offer a treat, but she only barks and bites in return how is she to know where those hands have been? what if I let my guard down and they strike me once again? misery is an old dog, she can't learn any new tricks this is all she has known maybe I should let misery in, I don't think she's a bad dog
