the anatomy of ink
ink is embedded in my flesh/ tracing the lines of every vein/ whispering in my heart beat/ my fingertrips wish to be pens/ wish to wield the power of writing/ the power to trace a story on your lips/ burn an enchantment on your chest/ and write the epilogue on your forearms/ ink is shredding in my blood/ epics scared upon your thighs/ riddles on your waist/ testimonials on your calves/ your body is my script/ sonnets on your ribs/ and eulogies on your trachea/the ink will never be satisfyed/ itching to scratch a novel upon your navel/ to caress a haiku on your hips/ biographies on your shoulderblades/ goodbyes down your spine/ and prologues on your tongue/ ink runs from darkened nails/as metaphors wrap around ankles/ and similes dance on your feet/apologies dig into your neck/ fables laced in your eyebrows/ and letters pressed to your palm/ prefaces smoke in your eyes/ leading to the plays on your cheeks/ the ink drips from hair/ my inked fingers wish to write a love story on your collar bone/ to sketach a tragedy on your wrist/ and etch the legends on your nose/ and place satires on your elbows/this ink is embedded in my flesh/ coursing through my nerves/ circling my lungs/ and falling from my breath/ ink has begun to drip from cracked lips like blood/ expanding/ looking to share its black tracings/eager to assemble a story in you/to make our stories criss cross along skin/ and burn into our histories
